I haven't seen it yet.
I heard one of the actors say they used 22 dogs and puppies.

I nearly always like the book better.

For one scene it seemed real obvious that it was a different, more slender lighter colored and elderly dog that was being used.

My sil bought me the book last Christmas, and I wasn't interested in reading it as I thought it was just going to be a boring book about a dog. Boy, was I ever wrong. I laughed and I cried. I fell in love with Marley. I loved how the family loved him despite his clumsiness. It's so much more than about a dog. It's about family. By the end of the book I wanted (and still do) a dog just like Marley.

I haven't seen the movie but I'm planning on it. As others have said, the book is almost always better than the movie.
