Ever bought a car through eBay?

by Chapis

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone here has bought a car from someone on eBay and gone through eBay Motors Vehicle Purchase Protection? If anyone knows of anything or has done this PLEASE let me know, this car just seems TOO GOOD to be true.

Thanks

Gaby

I've bought two cars from eBay motors. Both times I paid the hundred or so dollars to an independant mechanic for a complete checkup. Both times I met the seller half way and drove home.

I haven't personally but I know people who have and say they wouldn't buy a car any other way and they also paid for an inspection but had the car shipped to them.

wow-I can't believe it. I went with my gut and didn't go forward with it. It was too good to be true, and the story behind why he was wanting to sell the car didn't add up to ME. Plus I've read on Craigslist that ALL shipping cars deals are Fraudalent since they'll be receiving a money order or moneygram and who can guarantee I'll be getting the car to see it? If we can't meet half way or me see the car and the owner, I won't be doing any deals, plus I won't be sending no one no money without having the car/goods in my posession.
I wanted to email him back and tell him that by 'coincidence' i'll be doing a business trip over there to his city and that i would like to see the car, just to see what he would have to say, but I just forgot about it and let it go.

Ugh..I no longer do business with eBay. Steer clear..and especially don't sell anything on there. eBay is bad news all around..and so is Paypal (their sister company). Keep your money safe

Just the thought of buying a car through ebay just made me extremely nervous for you, I hesitate in buying anything off of Ebay, haha. Good luck though!

Bought a fixer-upper on Ebay, was really cheap. Went to pick it up, it was fairly close, and it was worth every $$$ we gave. Sorry others didn't have a good experience.
