I absolutely agree... but it goes both ways. It appears as though the prevalance of welfare recepients and drug use is quite prominent where Castymiss and I work (Los Angeles and NICU). It is quite apparent that geographical location and specialty have a huge effect on personal perception of the situation. I can't imagine that a nurse working in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Montana is going to have the same opinion on this matter as I am, working in a large NICU in Tampa, FL (or Houston, TX or San Diego, Ca... where I've worked). As you can see in the articles that I posted, there is strong evidence that drug abuse of welfare recipients in my realm of employment is probably the most significant.
I don't agree that any statement is fact simply because a person says so. Which is almost the same argument you're giving with any conflicting studies you provide. Yes, statistics can be inaccurate or outright lies. And for every castymiss who believes most people on welfare are druggies, there is a petunia2016 who believes that, while some people on welfare are substance abusers, most are honest people who just need a little help to survive. In the end, we just need to agree to disagree. But please, PLEASE, do not state opinion as fact.
I don't think anyone stated opinion as fact. I think everyone stated their opinion based on their personal experiences... that's all.
