Xmarks For Your Firefox Favorites
Are you a Firefox browser user? If so you are most likely aware that you can customize Firefox in numerous ways to suit your taste. Many extensions are available that greatly enhance not only your browsing pleasure, but also security and convenience. I use Firefox much more than any other web browser. I like Firefox, and I like the way I can easily modify it to my liking. One of the best extensions I have installed is called “Xmarks”. Since I work with a desktop, a laptop, and a netbook depending on circumstances, I really like the way Xmarks synchronizes my bookmarks. Before installing Xmarks, I had to manually copy my favorites and send them to my other machines on my home network so I could keep them synced. Xmarks has been great! Now whenever I add a bookmark, a little gold star appears on the Xmarks icon to remind me to sync before leaving Firefox. All you have to do is click on the Xmarks icon, and click “synchronize now”. That’s all there is to it. Then, when you use Firefox on your other computer(s), Xmarks reminds you that your bookmarks are ready for updating. To add extensions or other add-ons, just click the “Tools” menu and “Add-ons”. Next click “Get Add-ons” and the “Browse All Add-ons” link. There are other extensions I use, but I am particularly fond of Xmarks. How about you? Are you a Firefox user? If so, do you use Xmarks? What are your favorite extensions? If you are not a Firefox user, which browser do you use, and what do you like most about your browser? Search Tags |
