2009 all nurses christmas card exchange

I thought I start a list to see how many are interested in doing another christmas card exchange. This actually has become a tradition here at all nurses. If interested Please give a pm to me, chris at st lucas did this with me last year and it really was a great success. To reinterate here's how it works.
I really love this time of year and it really sets you in the mood for the holidays. To reiterate from seasons past.... any all nurses member can participate in the Allnurses Christmas Card Mailing List, even if they are not a premium member. Just PM or email me (I prefer email, actually) the following information: Remember you do not need to send a card to every one on the list, just send what you can afford with postage today.

Your allnurses name
Your real name (so your postal carrier will know it is you)
Your mailing address, including your zip or postal code
Your email address so I can send you the list

Then, later I will start sending out the list by email. In the past I have sometimes remembered how to make it set up like labels, so if you are inclined, you can print it off that way. Now, this is Christmas, so you don't have to send a card to everyone, but it's kind of nice to do that. However, if you can't for some reason but really wish you could, go ahead and join us. With no exceptions that I know of, we'd all rather send you a card at a time that you particularly need one, than have you sitting this year out because you couldn't afford postage or whatever.

And it goes without saying, the information on this and any previous allnurses Christmas card list is confidential, and not to be shared with anyone. If they are on the list, they got a copy. If they lost it, they can email me (I know who signs up!). If they aren't on the list, sorry, they don't get access to the info. It is all set up to protect all of us.....

Some people only want to send and receive email greetings. I'd like to encourage the email greetings sector to use the allnurses email or PM functions to send those greetings, rather than the actual Christmas Card list.

So, let the merriment begin! (Even if it is a little early..... )

Maybe we can make this a stickie like last year, eh, mods?

I think the deadline we will set will be the same as last year of dec 15th 2009. Late comers can still join after but I would love to have the list fairly complete by then. There will be no max limit of who can participate. I believe you need at least 15 post though to pm so if you are having trouble leave a post and I will pm you my email information.
I would like to start compiling the list to be sent out by nov 1st. Last year I believe we had around 65 names, years prior some more, some less. You do not have to send a card to everyone on the list, just what you can. I have recieved some very nice cards over the years, some home made by cross stitch, stamping, some very expensive cards, some not, it really does not matter. I recieved newletters as well and love those just as much. There are regualar participants from japan, australia and just mainstreet usa. I know christmas is about 10 weeks away but it will be here before you know it and getting cards from my fellow all nurses really puts both me and my family in the mood. My girls over the years have kept a map with pins from the cards we recieved and have learned geography. It really is a lot of fun and hope we have a good turnout like we have had in the years passed. Happy Holidays!!

Chris of lucas just emailed me and she will participating with us. She has had some family issues so I will take over the list this year but we are so happy she will be participating. It would not be the same without her but we all wish her and her family the best.
