Cool change here today, probably around 38c.
LOL. "cool change" when it's 38c? There happen to be about 3 centigrade temperatures I know without doing the conversion; and one of them is 37, which is 98.6F. 38c is HOT!! (Well, where I hail from it is.)

The DW and I are planning to visit Australia next fall (our fall, your spring) but we're going to be wusses and stay on the east side in Bundaberg. I doubt we make it that far west. The DW's brother married an Aussie and moved down under after she spent quite a bit of time in the states (where he met her).j

Grace, after looking up Marblehead I see it is a thriving metropolis compared to Sandfire (even has a hospital!). But it sure is a long way from anywhere. But I guess that can be said for a most of the towns out in the bush.

Ambulance Re: Ambulance
Hey all. Well, what a lovely friendly mob you all are. So many questions. I pretty much always go to Hedland as it's hospital is bigger and more able to cope with the various patients. We have an airstrip here with battery lights for night landings. Sometimes I will send pts directly to Perth and the less severe take by road to Hedland. My ambulance can legally carry 3 patients but I have had up to 7 in the old Ford. Rules and protocol go out the window in the bush.
St John funds most of the running costs but donations from the travrlling public help. I also get a lot of support from Hedland businesses such as fuel companies and mechanical workshops. The state govt gives us a discount on the vehicle registration and nothing else.
The Flying Doctor are my lifeline. They provide me with all my drugs and advice when I need it. I have worked with them for 45 years. [look up www.rfdswa.com
I will post some pics when able to.

Ambulance Re: Ambulance
Hey GRACE and KOHELE. Well Bundaberg for a holiday!!!!! Now thats a choice. Bundy is the rum capital of OZ. When I was a young bloke doing rodeos all the time, I think it was all about the Bundy rum and not the rodeo. Fortunately I'm now wiser and not fuelled by rum. Rodeos were the best FUN until you realised that there was a lot of airspace between you and the unforgiving ground when a horse unloaded you!!!!!
Grace, where is it you live? I think I saw Marblehead somewhere. I was a marblehead when doing rodeos.

I am off to Perth in 3 weeks time for my oldest adopted daughters 42'nd birthday. YAY party time!!
The other 2 adopted daughters birthdays fall 3 days apart so I reckon they should come see the old boy.
I love 'em all to bits. Kids are so much fun~~~~~Well, most of the time.
PS I am Michael and feel free to call me that.
Can someone translate US into OZ as in family-----DD DS etc. [Shortcuts for family members, I reckon]

Hello Michael!

Mi DD will be 42 next year.

I went to a rodeo once. We kids got dirty and made fools of ourselves trying to catch a greased pig

The real rodeo was exciting then but there are way too many injuries.
