All I want is my MTV. No, not that piece of crap that calls itself MTV today. I'm talking about where I could come home from school and watch videos, nothing BUT videos for hours at a time. Every now and then a VJ like Alan, Nina, or the others would pop up and say we're going to take a 30 minute station break, and BOOM! another 12 hours of non-stop music videos.

There were no programs, there were no "reality" shows, and there were hardly ANY commericials. Just music videos.

I can't find a music video anymore. Does anyone have them? Or are they buried in some show I have to suffer through? Bah!!

I am still fond of the eighties...I was in my late teens/early twenties during the 80's heydays. I still crack up when I see pictures of myself & friends with that poofy sprayed hair. lots of makeup and sweatshirts that were cut to show off one shoulder.

It was the time when Prince was still Prince..Styx and Cheap Trick were still popular.. and all of those wild heavy metal bands had really long hair & wore makeup!

Rollarskating was in and aids was an illness that was FAR away from heterosexuals.

I could go on and on- but thanks for the flashback!

Another 80's teen checking in. I graduated HS in 1986, so puts me right in the middle of that era. I remember all that stuff listed and then some. Oh, to be a kid again, with hardly any worries...

I was a kid in the 80s and I graduated from high school in 1992. I remember ALL that stuff!

I still have my Strawberry Shortcakes and Joe still has his Star Wars toys.

Has anyone noticed that there are CareBears in the toy stores again? I got my niece one for her birthday.

Well, I graduated in 1986,a few years previous to that I had spiked hair and a "tail", the hair was orange for a while......and all that was *unheard of* when I first did it.........I loooooved Duran Duran...........there was only one Star Trek..........we still listened to *records* (you know, vinyl)-----(uh, hey wait, I just paid 20 bucks for a Duran Duran vinyl record album on E-Bay, does that mean I'm stuck in the 80's?)..........when HBO was only on in the evenings?..............how expensive VCR's were when they first came out? Remember when you actually didn't *have* one? ..........and hey, the music......there really was some cool music. I still like the music, go figure.

I remember when MTV had no commercials.
I had a Man from U.N.C.L.E lunchbox.
I had to put a book of matches in the 8-track player to keep from hearing 2 songs at once.
I had a leather visor.
I had a great blacklight poster collection.
hmm...maybe this was pre-80's

I am such a child of the eighties. Lip-synching to Material girl. Wearing long neon t-shirts off one shoulder (like Molly Ringwald, my hero). Girls Just Wanna Have fun, Sixteen Candles. Vegas, thanks for the Thundercats memory! I had most of the strawberry shortcake dolls, 2 cabbage patch kids. Love that eighties music. Remember Wham!? Loved Wake me Up before you Go Go! Wearing my gelly bracelets and my gelly sandles. Had the leg warmers -- what the heck were the point of those? Yep, those were crazy and repulsive times.
