Good Sunday Morning, November 1st!

by dianah Staff
Updated Nov 01, 2009 at 11:54 AM by dianah

Good morning to all!

It's almost midnight here.

I thought I'd share w/you an email I sent my boys a few days ago:

PARENTAL TRANSLATIONS
Your parents thought this might be helpful:

Sentence* - Translation
(*may not sound exactly as written)

Please take out the trash - BEFORE YOU GO TO BED, take out the trash from the kitchen and put a new black bag in the trash container.

Please take out the recyclables - BEFORE YOU GO TO BED, take out the recyclables from the kitchen and put a new black bag in the recyclables container.

Please gather the trash - TODAY gather the household trash and take it to the outside trash bin.

Please clean the cat boxes - TODAY use the scooper and clean out the stinky excrement from the cat box, taking it IMMEDIATELY outside to the trash bin.

Please change the cat box litter - TODAY scrape the stinky excrement from the sides and bottom of the cat box and then dump the entire contents outside in the trash bin. Refill the cat box with lovely, clean, sweet-smelling cat litter.

Please feed the cats - BETWEEN 3 and 5 p.m. every day, place canned cat food in their bowls, feed the cats, then put the bowls in the sink to soak after the cats are through with their meal.

Please give Fred his shot - Around 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 p.m., give Fred his insulin injection (currently 8 units). He may not cooperate but he will love you for it.

Please change your bed sheets - TODAY take the existing sheets off your bed and replace with clean sheets. This *SHOULD* be done weekly, to prevent your smelling like you have been sleeping in the trash can.

Please vacuum your room - TODAY get the vacuum cleaner out of the closet, check the bag to be sure it doesn't need changing, plug the unit into a wall receptacle, turn unit on and vacuum your room of cat litter and other stuff. When you are finished, turn unit off, unplug from wall receptacle, coil cord around hooks (provided on unit) and return unit to hall closet.

If you are the last one out of the house, SEPARATE THE CATS, CLOSE THEIR DOORS, LOCK BOTH FRONT DOOR DEADBOLTS AND SET THE ALARM.

Except for weekends, please plan to be home by 11pm.
If you are unable to comply, contact us to explain the situation and give your best estimate of when you WILL be home.

On weekends home time is midnight, unless arriving later is previously arranged.

Drive carefully at ALL times, as contrary to what you first thought when you read through this, we DO care about you.

Stay tuned for further updates as they become available/necessary.

Love, Mom and Dad

Have a good one!

Greetings everyone!

Di . . . I hope those boys respond well to your email! LOL I've always held the view that kids should do their bit in the house, especially if/when both parents are working.

Loved seeing the pic of sweet Gavin, netters. He's such a cutie.

I missed the saturday thread altogether! :stone It's been a rough week and some things got neglected.

Last night DH and I drove to the beach and bought fish and chips for tea. Best fish and chips in town at that place! It was so well patronised, everyone had to place their order and return in 45 mins- 1hr! We took a fridge magnet and next time will phone ahead, especially on a saturday night! It was nice being near the ocean.

Today has been a quiet day, I hit a wall and have been very . I'm determined tomorrow will be better. A new week at the start of a new month, so got to pull up those bootstraps and move forward. Life is such a mixture isn't it? Don't you just wish that pendulum would stop and rest awhile sometimes though?

Wishing everyone a happy sunday and it's good evening from me!

Life is indeed such a mixture, Grace.

Hi Di!

Going to church this morning, then doing some cooking and relaxing. Working nights Mon/Tues.

Now that things are settling down, I might head to Wisconsin prior to the weekend, when I next work. Hoping that it won't rain, and that I won't be too tired with the shift to nights.

Pehaps I should wait, but it's going to get colder and I'm really eager to see how the car works on a longer trip, compared to my previous one.

Di - what does THIS mean: Sentence* - Translation
(*may not sound exactly as written)

You have the cat litter boxes in bedrooms? hmmmm . . . (not a fan of cat litter boxes as you know).

Grace - :icon_hug:

Well, good morning to EVERYONE, from Northern California where it is still dark. Got a call at 0500 about my patient who choked on water the other night - she has been coughing all night - but she also has long-standing pulmonary hypertension and a myriad of cough meds at bedside. Also liquid morphine. Nothing has worked. She is sipping hot tea now. That worked wonders the other night. She has become weaker and can't really get out of bed anymore - aspiration pneumonia by aspirating water? I'm waiting to see if the coughing clears up before I wake up the doc. I'll try more morphine too - gotta open up those pulmonary blood vessels!

We only had one group of trick-or-treaters knock at our door about 8 p.m.

Better get another cup of coffee . .. I'll probably be in the car soon, on my way to seeing patients.

Good morning. It was 80 and sunny yesterday, now it's 59 and rainy today.

I am supposedly no longer contagious at this point (according to the Tamiflu insert, which I read as I took my last dose this morning). So I'm planning to escape the child for a while by meeting a friend for lunch and some cheap retail therapy.

Then the afternoon will be spent working on my next homework assignment...when class started I had goofed the dates up and ended up turning my first assignment in a day late I got a penalty (I deserved it)...so I went through the syllabus and put every due date on Outlook because I damn well won't let that happen again!

Good morning Di, Grace, Joe, & Steph...... and all to follow.

(((Grace))) I hope when you wake up on your Monday your outlook is brighter. Maybe you could put off your cleaning til Tuesday?

Joe - I wouldn't be surprised if you don't get around 30 mpg in that Kia (if it's a 4 cyl.)

Di - I can relate. But the DW instead of getting the youngest to do it often would say, "it's just easier to do it myself"...... and would. Now he's come back home to live with us until he gets married next Summer. He's doing the same behaviours he learned before but she wants ME to talk to him! Arrrrgghhh!

Steph - Hope your day goes well. What are the "boys" up to? Any wood cutting? The wood we for DS#2's future in-laws probably amounted to 2 1/2 cord. The DW, son, son's GF, and I finished cutting it and loaded it onto the flatbed truck yesterday. It will be delivered today. I bet it's going to surprise the son's future FIL.

Meri - Hope you enjoy your freedom today.

After church - woodcutting. The main problem is our pickup has a tool box and fuel tank - so we can't fit all that much in there anymore.

I know exactly what you mean, but I don't consider that a "problem" now that I'm 50+. It means it fills up that much quicker.

I've got to go with my younger brother today to move our spare processor up on a job and collect a broken one. On Friday the engine in the one up on the job decided "today is a good day to die" and proceded to disembowel itself. There goes another $20,000.... or more. After we get it moved in I need to drive across the state. Looks like it's going to be a long day. (I wanted to start at daylight but little brother didn't want to start until 0900 because last night was Halloween.)

I hope things are going better for your business. I'd better finish getting ready for work.

Goooooooooood Morning to you on and a pinch and punch for the first of the month

I have been a busy bee getting my bean and bacon soup made, slurrrrrrrrps it is good and then I cooked up a huge pot of creasy (sp) greens that hub got from a patient. Toddled downstairs and got the ironing all done, washed some new scrubs I bought myself that are bootiful (Netters may not want to know the colors though)

Hi Meriwhen good to see your post and nice to meet you.

Going to catch up on my emails then do some work related stuff.

I see a nappy poo on the horizon as I am feeling tired.

Was happy I only got the two calls to check on patients and one was mine who only lives a mile from my home

Picked up 2" of rain yesterday so I am happy about that, even more happier our lawns got mowed before this happened. We LOVE our lawn mower guy as we just do not have time lately with work etc.

Hope you all have a blissfully happy Sunday, hubs and I are looking into a different church as our pastor left the church. We may check out one a couple of more miles down the road from us. I prefer a rockin' happy church where we can interact. I am never good at just sitting like a pimple on a ......

Later gaters and be good so you can make up for me being oh so norty

You're sure feeling ornery today............ and I'm glad to see it. That must mean your gut isn't bothering you as much; I hope. (Didn't you see the Dr. the other day? Did you learn anything more?)

I'd love to lollygag around like you're going to but some of us have to work. (One of these day's I'm going to quick working two jobs.... but probably not anytime too soon.)

It is good to see Meri stopping by, but I'm a little worried she might not fit in.......... she's too NICE.

Just a word of warning..... she works in a psych ward. She'll think she's not even left work when she comes to this thread.
