Goooooooooooooooooooood and Happy Satititititiday to you all

Woke up in an extra silly mood today so WATCH OUT WORLD.

I was able to get all the groceries bought yesterday, picked up a gorgeous dress for Lily's First Birthday, we will head out today to get her an educational toy and some books to add to her box then get it sent off.

Dare not be late with it or we will hear all about it I am sure

Dropped my scrubs into have altered and will pick those up next Wednesday so that will be nice. I then ran by the vet's and picked up some stuff for the kitty cat, then finished off by running by the credit union to cash a check/ cheque. LOL

Today is cool out there with a nice Jack frost although I am sitting here with the gas logs burning and feeling very warm.

Hubs is still asleep and after him working over 50 hours and driving 700 miles for work he needs to rest. I am so proud of him and all he achieved last week, I just pray next week will be kinder to him and not have him working such long hours.

Granted he had such a mess to clean up from the previous Case Manager so now that is all fixed up should have him just getting out there and doing his visits without so much office time.

So what are you all planning this weekend?

Once we get home I plan to get the ironing done and sloth around in my jammies, too bad if anyone comes to see us as I AM NOT getting dressed

Hope you all have a blessed and fun filled weekend.

Good night from me!

Hi Sabbs, the gift for Lily sounds perfect! Hope it reaches her on time! Also hope Joey manages to enjoy some rest after such a hectic week. The fire sounds inviting, but since we've got the a/c going here ........ Enjoy your weekend my friend! I'm already in my PJ's!

Time for this ol girl to turn in, so until next time ...........

Hi Sabby Grace jnette!

I'm back from Madison, got back yesterday afternoon. The trip was fine, the car performed well and wasn't uncomfortable even on a fairly long journey. And the weather was fine too.

I was a little disappointed in the food, just not as good as you can find in the Chicago area, not even at some of the better restaurants.

But there's a lot of natural beauty...the lakes for example, and the large number of parks, some of which are large conservation parks with acres of forest and trails, all within city limits.

I'm working tonight and Sunday night; going to go for a walk this morning and see my dad this afternoon. Funny, I notice that my stomach troubles got much better after I switched to night shift...

Good Morning Joe! Get some sleep in there. Glad to hear night shift is working out.

I'm in Dehli, India where it is evening time, 8pm. Just had a lovely vegan supper which actually was supposed to just be snacks during an orientation meeting, but there was so much, we just called it dinner. The trip has been o.k. far, we actually start the tour early. I just arrived a daily so I wouldn't miss out on the orientation part and would be plenty of rest before the tour starts. We're leaving the city and touring the villages and the country side - "the heart of India". Dehli is a crowded, busy, amazing city. I went for a walk, but remembered I didn't have any Indian money, nor the address to the hotel so I didn't stray far in case I got lost.

Anyway, just checking in. They have free interet at this hotel and it's amazingly fast. Not everywhere will have such luxery so you might not hear from me for a while.

Woo-hoooooooo, Tweety!
Glad you're there safely!
Enjoy, enjoy!

Dh did a marathon yesterday, 'fixing' our virus-infested puters!
Working fine now, and this weekend will be spent 'mining' some of the 'stuff' (my documents, etc) from the old hard drive to the new.
FINGERS CROSSED: NO VIRUS!!!

Joe, one of our RNs moved ("back") to Madison over a year ago (he and his dw have family back there). We still miss him!
Madison sounds beautiful, with the lakes and parks (I'd enjoy them, and the trails) . . glad you had a good (if short) visit, and the car behaved itself.

Jnette, what is the name of/brand of heater you use, the little pseudo-fireplace??

Hello to everyone else and will be back later!

Good morning from sunny California!

So good to hear from Tweety - I knew he would find a computer!

Di - is the heater the "Amish" one?

Joe - did you drive your new car? Or do you have it yet? I'm forgetful.

Grace and Sabby - Tweety said his tour mate is an Aussie woman who is also vegan! How great is that??!!

We are off to the woods to cut down dead trees (aka snags) for firewood. Just too pretty to sit home on my tush.

Good morning! The sun is shining here too. Supposed to make it up to a balmy 47 degrees.

Steph, if you think that the flavored oatmeal I usually have is terrible, today was even worse. They were out of all the flavored ones so I had to eat the "Original" one. It has NO flavor. I mixed in a couple of packets of Splenda to make it a little more palatable.

Watch those snags..... The wood cutting stories where I end up getting hurt (bumps and bruises to my body; but a major slam to my pride) usually involved snags.

I'd better get moving. I'd like to get a little something accomplished today. But doing computer work in a motel room isn't very appealing..... especially when the sun is shining. To be honest, I'd rather be cutting firewood.

Soooooooooooo thrilled to hear form our Tweety !!! Sleep well, and ENJOY !!!

Di.. our little "pseudo" heater is ELECTRA LOG. Have three now ... (a little bit bigger one in the living room with glass doors that open and the controls inside)... the original small ones are one in the kitchen and one in my bedroom now. LOVE them !!!
So glad to hear you finally got that nasty puter virus taken care of.. sheesh, what trials, eh?
Get a mac !!!

Joe.. Wisconsin is a beautiful state.. I remember going to Usinger's when I was about 11 yrs old and we were stationed in Michigan for 18 mos. And remember Winsconsin Dells, too. The parks sound lovely.

Zuzi... hope that neck feels better soon! Take care of yourself!

Steph.. enjoy the outdoors... I miss cutting firewood, and stacking it. I loved those days of good, clean, honest work.. and then coming home to the fragrance of a roast chicken in the oven.... ahhhhhhhhhh. Those were the days the kids' daddy and I all lived up on our 36 acre mountain- top farm. Loved it. *sigh*

Kolohe.. I'm with Steph.. those instant oatmeals and nasty, slimy, no-texture mush. Blech ! You get some work done today ! (while WE play!) Neener.

GORGEOUS day out there.. already have 2 loads of wash hanging on the line, have had Minnie out in the field twice. Then came in and buckled down to a chore I've been wanting to get done for some time now. Bought a fireproof safe box thing for all our important papers... passports, insurances, mortgage, bank accounts, vehicle and property titles, etc. Went through all my stuff and pulled out everything that was important moved it all into new files and folders and placed in in there. Now if something were to happen to me and/or dh, the kids will know just where to find all the most important stuff they will need to get their hands on. Not to mention if our house were to ever (God forbid) burn down, these items will still be safe.

Next, I want to make a cover sheet with a summary of everything and where to find it, how to access things, contact ppl at the bank, my IRA, etc. and place it in there as well. And finish my Advance Directive/Living Will. That goes in there, too.

I figure it's time... we are not guaranteed a tomorrow, so I need to have our things in order to make it easier on the kids should something happen either suddenly, or down the road. And with Mutti's Alzheimer in my family hx. now, I don't want to wait and then not remember what is where, or how to direct them. KWIM? And dh has no idea anyway, as I'm the one who has always kept up with these things, and filed/organized everything, so he'd be of no help to them.... OR himself !!! :chuckle

So that's done, and I feel better.

Need to do some more light cleaning around here, a few odds and ends chores to complete yet. Wind is picking up, making it a good bit cooler out there, but at least it's sunny. Yay.
