jnet, i am very good about taking things apart but putting them back together again is a lost cause

I hadn't remembered Hugh Laurie as Mr. Little but you're right (I have seen almost everything w/ Michael J. Fox, my one true love - even if he was playing a mouse he was an ADORABLE mouse!).

Re taking things apart: I once took a home ec class, my senior yr in HS, we could choose any project we wanted. Well w/ mom's permission I took her Bentwood Rocker and was going to re-cane it (one of her day-care kids had gone thru the back and bottom of it). Well, once I got it to school realized it needed to be reglued so - took it apart - and - that's as far as I got!!!!!

Um ...

Yeah.

Well, about 5 yrs later I bought Mommy a brand new one.

Of course it was not the same as the older one she had ... did she even say thank you? lol...

Good Morning wonderful GM peeps !

Time to rise, shine, and brush them toofers !

Enjoying my first cuppa, then will make the bed and mosey on down to my wound care pt. and get that behind me for the day. Then home sweet home for the rest of the day. Woohoo !

Hope all of you who were feeling puny yesterday are feeling better today. :icon_hug:

Have several things to accomplish today around here, hope I can get lots done so I can just play tomorrow. I'm half tempted to run to W-Mart to purchase that router I need.. but I doubt I will. It would be nice to get that laptop online though... hmmmmm... decisions, decisions. Nah.. too many other things I must do here today. If I started with that, I wouldn't get anything else done. Better not.

OK..I'll check in with you all later !

Good morning y'all!!

I have to work today but only 8 hrs. I have worked a total of 55 hrs this week. The only day I actually got off was Wednesday.

I am sooo tired!!

I'm not sure yet whether I work tomorrow. If I do, it will be an 8 hr shift. Then I will be off New Year's Eve and Day YAY!!

I LOVE House, MD. I was listening last noc after work and one of the residents said, "Nurse call the OR, we are coming up NOW!!" Being tired, I growled and told my dd that the dr could call the OR himself.

I hope everyone is feeling better and all have a peaceful day.

Morning zoe jnette KW sirI !

Up a bit early today to see if I need to move my car this morning due to snow parking restrictions, and found out that I don't have to move it!

Checked to see if I'd gotten my money, and found out not yet. May be a bit, the university site is down for maintenance, and usually deposits stuff a day or so late anyway. Oh well, I don't need it immediately....

Not going to do much today, just see my dad and relax.

Should we start a New Year's Resolution thread sometime soon? I've just been thinking about some things I'd like to change about myself for the new year and have been wondering if others would like to do the same.

Almost forgot...

I've always thought that the music from the Messiah would be good for movie soundtracks, considering the great range involved...from sad to triumphant to menacing to peaceful. Something for every movie.

Last night I saw "Charlie Wilson's War", and to my surprise they had "And He Shall Purify" playing during the montage of the Afghan fighting back against the Soviets.

Nice to see someone taking my advice.

Hey there guys and gals...

Well, I worked last night (survived it, thank jebus!) but didn't leave til 0800...and here I sit, in front of my laptop, unable to get up off my lazy butt and go to bed.

Last night was totally hellacious: one DNR patient circling the drain with the doctor ignoring our pages requesting comfort measures, two new admits with crazy home meds/med reconciliations to straighten out, a trach patient constantly on the call light, my TB patient (and he was the easiest!), and a COPD-er whose solumedrol doses were making his sugars go haywire all night long. WHEW!!! And I survived...only gave a few meds late and actually got to eat around oh, 0500.

Maybe someday I'll get the hang of this and feel like I somewhat know what I'm doing. At this point, I feel so frazzled most of the shift...!

Anywho, treated myself to something sweet on the way home (peppermint iced mocha!) and picked up Starbuck's Christmas cd for half off. Still in the Christmas mood! eyes:

Well, I'm off to try and catch a few zzz's...on call tonight and I SO hope I don't get called in. I desperately need a night off. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Much love to you all.

Zoe & Netters- I tried "brain surgery", years ago, on an old desk top model. I did it but kept thinking it would die on the table.

Netters & Sabby- Thanks for reminding me to brush my teeth this morning.

Karen- No wonder you're so tired! Are you doing anything for New Years or just crash? I'll probably sleep it in, considering the meds I'm on now. Phooey. Hate meds!

Siri- Please get better quick. I hate it when you feel puny. I'm praying for ya.

Joe- I don't do New Year resolutions 'cause I know I won't keep them. I just keep trying to do the best that I can. Your suggestion about the Messiah sounds pretty good. Now who do you go to with your suggestion?

Duckie- I hope you found your way to bed and sleep. Sounds like you did just fine last night. No wonder you're pooped. Rest well.

I NEED YOUR PRAYERS

I just found out about 2-3 hrs. ago that my MIL passed away. It was very sudden and unexpected. Her blood sugar was low. Dad got her OJ w/sugar she wasn't responding. So he called 911 they got there worked on her for a few minutes then came out and told dad she was gone.

My dh is taking this very hard. They are still in Illinois and we are here in Nevada. I have to find some way to get dh home to be with his family. I wish I could get all of us there but that is not going to be possible. I tried the Red cross and got no answer I guess we will have to try on Monday.

y our prayers would be greatly appreciated right now

Thanks,
Angie
