Hi jnette - yeah, I could be folding clothes.

I've been with hospice for almost 2 years now as a casual employee. I'm starting as a part-timer in a couple of weeks and will be getting bene's. Cool. Yes, I do love it. There are personality problems with some staff but then you find that with any job, right?

I did get a call - to deliver some briefs that have the sticky tabs. They use pull-ups and those are not working since the patient isn't getting OOB much.

So, off I go to drive 20 miles to deliver briefs.

Thanx, Steph. I knew you had been doing Hospice "casually" for awhile now, but it had seemed like lately it had become more than just "casual" and was wondering if you were considering making a permanent career change. I think you're well suited for Hospice.

Darn.. I think had that been "my" family, I'd have sent another family member or gone myself to pick up some briefs instead of calling out a nurse for that. I mean it wasn't exactly an emergency, right?

I remember having to switch Mutti's for the same reason once she became pretty much bed bound. Switched to the ones with the sticky tabs. Made it much easier.

But I couldn't see myself calling a hospice nurse to drive 20 miles to deliver some.... ??? Unless, of course, there were no other options.

I know what we could do ! Have me over for a glass of your lovely red wine and we'll fold those clothes TOGETHER !!!

or...they can cut the pull-ups on ea side, then tape them together with whatever type of tape is available.

Yep.. I did that, too, Leslie. I had just bought a whole new pack of her usual briefs, and thought why not just use these? And I did just that as you said above.
