BP ... hope that toothace is soon gone! Those kinds of aches are awful!

Kolohe .... enjoy the blackberry wine!

Well .... I left the cake cooking a tad longer, it now is cooked through as I thought it should be and it's now out of the oven cooling! Obviously my oven temp isn't actually regulated properly! It smells delicious!

I think the predictions for a heatwave are spot on!
It's very warm (hot!) outside! Presently 36C.
The "experts" have predicted a heatwave all week!
Whatever happend to spring???!!!!

Sorry I wasn't around to respond, Grace!
I'd have done as you did: left it in till it was done (using whatever method you use. I use the toothpick method: insert in the middle, as far down as possible, and pull it back out and if it comes out dry the cake is DONE! If it comes out with batter stuck to it, the cake stays in another 5-10 min. You might want to get your oven temp checked, just so you know how it heats. Mine is a little cool, so I know to turn it on around 25 degrees higher than the recipe calls for).
Glad it turned out!

Yes, Jnette, I made another trip to Target to return the lampshades and then got the ones that would fit.
And yes, I get a little irritated when I have to take back or exchange something!!
But it's all done now, and the old tattered lampshades are GONE.

I got dh some ginger ale, as his stomach has been 'off' today.
He said drinking it helped him.

Y'all have a good evening/noc/day!

No worries Di ........ it's turned out brilliantly! and ... we couldn't wait until dessert tonight! We've tasted it lol I'm giving myself a for this one!
Glad you were able to exchange your lamps. Hope DH's soon feeling better.

Sorry you're so tired, Zuzi. Hope you manage to obtain some restful sleep.

I've now got two banana cakes in the oven cooking. Had a few 'nana's which were too ripe for eating, soooo .... into a cake they've gone! DH can take one with him tomorrow.
I'm being a regular little Margaret Fulton* today!

Blackberry cake and a glass of cold milk would hit the spot just now! Tooth is a little better thanks to Advil. Hope to get up with dentist in the am.

Hope this coming week is good for all of us!

Oh I'm so glad your cake turned out Grace! I read "olive oil" and went "uh oh". Glad I was wrong!

Spent some time at the office this afternoon after a lovely lunch with friends from church. We talked for 2 hours - Danny did well for the most part but the last 1/2 kept whispering in my ear about going home. We just live across the street but he is too young to go home alone so . . poor kid had to stay and listen to 6 adults chat.

I ordered "Monsters Vs. Aliens" off Directv for us to watch when Daddy left for work. We had popcorn too.

Now I'm having a small bowl of granola. Then bed.

How was the wine Big K ? Oh . . . by the way we did talk about logging accidents at lunch.

Well...... I'm no eonophile, but the wine is more of what I would classify as a dessert wine. It was fairly sweet, but it was good. I ended up getting the same Manischewitz wine as everyone else cooked with.

Speaking of logging accidents, yes, maybe I was trying to suggest a hardhat for safety. At least for the person falling the snag. It doesn't take a very big limb to hurt like the dickens when it falls on your bare head. I didn't tell the story about the next time I fell a snag. I did wear my hard hat and had the younger boy stay way back to be safe. I fell the snag away from another tree and was watching it carefully when it felt like someone hit me on the arm as hard as they could with a broom stick. I whipped around to see if the boy was being funny, but he was standing there totally oblivious to what had happened. A limb just a little bigger around than my thumb had broken out and fell on me. It raised a pretty good sized "monkey bump" on my forearm.

When it comes to falllng trees, I have no luck at all.

good night!

Because I've never tasted blackberry cake before, steph ... I've got nothing to compare it with. However, since it tasted and looks good, I'm guessing the olive oil didn't cause any damage. I just snuck another piece and this time had it with a diced peaches and a dollop of cream! YUMMY!
Glad you enjoyed a nice lunch with the friend's and kudos to Danny for being so patient with the "oldies!" lol

DH's just cropped his hair -(what's left that is!) lol - with the clippers, and he now looks like a "skin head!" He reckons this way he wont have to bother with combing his hair on the trip! :/ Sheesh ... it looks woeful! Glad I wont have to be looking at him in the next couple of weeks! lol

Enjoy your granola and sleep tight, steph!

G'day/night Kolohe .......... yep that wine is definitely a dessert wine for sure.
One of the winemakers yesterday said to add a little of it to a glass of lemonade - (hang on, our lemonade is not what you call lemonade, I think you call it ??sprite maybe??) - anyway .... just add some wine to the lemonade and bingo ... you have a nice refreshing summer drink! I'll try it later!

I bet that would be good.... Sprite or 7_Up, but not lemonade. LOL.

What language is that again you speak? Whatever it is, I'm slowly learning it. Lift, mob, torch, mop, sandpounder, bushie, afternoon tea, joey.......... they are all starting to make sense.

You have a g'day, Grace. (now I'm going to follow Steph around and see what she says before she goes to bed. You know how women are; they always have to have the last word.)

That reminds me!!!! Steph, what am I going to do with you??? I spend over an hour a 1/2 a page trying to explain to you that there is nothing wrong with a few lines, and then you make a comment like that on FB.

I wonder if your lovely MIL is as hard-headed as you are when it comes to that topic....... If I weren't so stubborn I'd just give up.
