Steph - glad you enjoyed the pomegranate, no matter how you got at it!
They ARE delicious!
We have half a dozen here, from a friend's tree!
Will attack them later . . .

Oh, and they made the book Holes into a movie, starring a young Shia LeBoef.
It's a good movie (good blues music in the background, too), I enjoyed it.
(read the book w/my kids too, some years ago )

Music went well, and we stopped by Guitar Center on the way home, as I needed guitar strings and dh wanted some new equipment.
Came home w/a new condenser mike (now we have three ), a mixer (with phantom power, whatever that is ), some cables, a case for the mike . . . .
Seeing us at Guitar Center, think: kids in a candy store. Yeah. (especially dh!)

We hired some ppl to clean out our backyard: overgrown vines, a volunteer pepper tree that insists on growing and growing and growing, some junk boxes . . .
Glad it's getting DONE!

OK, now I need to get down to business and go to the grocery store.

Later!

Ooooooooooo, Grace, loved the pictures!
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed your visit to the mansion, and I too hope they keep it / run it the way it has been, for generations to enjoy the historical significance and 'flavor.'

Grace those photos made me drool, the scones with jam and cream made my heart skip a beat ya brute. I am so happy you had such a great time.
I read where they have stated that Sydney is in for catastrophic winds and heat, preclude to nasty fires. Oh I pray my beloved Australia can skip this horrid threat

We received a letter yesterday- [ hand delivered on a sunday! says a lot of the importance since we noramlly do not have mail delivered on weekends]- from our local member of state parliament warning residents of the very real threat and danger we're facing this summer. It lists the action plans we should all have in place and the instructions on choosing to evacuate or stay and fight the fires if they happen. For the government to be sending these letters, it's obvious they're very concerned.
Thankfully, we got through the heatwave unscathed here, but we know it's not over yet. Summer hasn't even officially started! NSW has something like 20 or more fires erupted in various parts of the state!

Please be assurred ... if it happens here, I'll be OUTTA here! Bugger the house! It can be rebuilt. I'll be grabbing the boys and if time permits; the photos and personal papers, and then I'll be in that car and away!

I LOVE my sunburnt country, but please lord, we need a break from the devastation the fires cause!

Dianah - your advise about eating pomegranates was great . . . .except . . . . I love eating them the messy way! Shades of childhood!

Kolohe - Danny and I read a bunch of different books during the week - he is into the Star Wars Pre-quel books and he picked out an "Accelerated Reading" book called "Holes" . . . .it is more suited to 5th grade level comprehension though . . I wish they graded the books for word recognition AND comprehension level.

I need to get busy - was headed to the big city to meet my daughter's boyfriend but that fell through so I'll tackle our bedroom instead.

Happy Sunday to you all - Tweety . . . . oh my gosh I just remembered I was supposed to be the reader today! :imbar Oh no . . . I hope my dear husband took my place!

steph
I think "Holes" was a Newberry award winner; another Newberry winner to keep in mind when he is in 5th grade is "Harris and Me". The first few pages made me wonder about it being appropriate for the boys; but then I loved it. I even posted the "peeing on the electric fence" episode here on AN a while back.

We got the old rug up, the pocket door removed; and the walls framed up for his bathroom remodel. Now I need to grab a bite to eat and then head home.

The pictures made me hungry, Grace.

Hope your night goes well for you Joe.

Tweety, you're just as cheap as my boy; but in his case he won't turn the heat on.

I'd better get going.

Kolohe, hope you have safe travels.

Grace, I hope the heatwave breaks soon, and no bush fires occur.
Impressive, to receive a government-issued letter specifically addressing possible crisis.
That's forward-thinking.

Well, I've been to the grocery store and put all the groceries away.
Paid the bills.
Changed guitar strings.
Still need to change bedsheets and study a little for the EP case tomorrow (an SVT ablation).

Y'all have a good one!

Is sunday night and I am tired and scarred....... tonight two people threatened me....one in a easiest way, another in a straight direct way..... people hate Zuzi...... you need an american Zuzi....are thinks that this world is not prepared to see it....or read about it.....
I will try to stay away as much possible from AN....

I am just sick to wake up and go to work tommorow...."is not your world, they don't like you, they don't want you, you are not like them, is their game, not yours.....you belong to us.....be carefull what you write, what you say...." I knew what he tried to tell me....

Half an hour later...another..."I know what you want, ZUZI!"
I fell to cry! YOU DON"T KNOW! And i become scarred, you don't know what I want because IF you knew it, you didn't mess up with me and my life....I need to have a clear life a peacefull american nursing life with peacefull people around, with friends, in a peacefull place, to live peacefull and to belive in normal clean peacefull family love! You really don't know me! At all!

Jeez when this all mess will finish ever????

Grace have all your important papers and photos in a box ready to grab or even go as far as putting it in the car so all you would need to do was grab the boys and get to safety. Please do this for me.
