Soooo .. you get the picture??!!
Greetings everyone!
Hoping everyone is enjoying their sunday. Mine was delightful! The tea went off very well, the governor came with his wife and entourage, also the mayor and his wife. A good time was had by all and the goodies much appreciated and delicious! Met the rellies at the house and we took our seats at the table designated for us. The committee and volunteers did a marvellous job of looking after everyone and the afternoon was a huge success for them. Spent some time engaging in conversation with the governnor and his wife, - we have the military service/life/sons also currently serving who know each other - in common. So, conversation flowed freely and happily with lots of laughs. They enjoyed seeing the house and learning all about the history etc. Overall ..... a most pleasant encounter and the grub was delicious! Did I mention that already??!
As is the way with historical houses, they cost many dollars to upkeep. There's a bit of a cloud hanging over the future of the house. I prefer it stays as it is, displaying the history and artefacts etc, and open for people to visit and learn the history etc. For the afternoon teas to continue, and available for functions such as weddings etc. There'll be "interesting" times ahead!
I stopped in to visit friends both on the way to, and coming back from, my outing yesterday. It was lovely to catch up with good friends again. Ended up staying for tea (as in evening meal!

) at the [on the way home] friends place. A full, fun, and busy sunday for me!

And now ..... it's monday!
Another busy day today which also involves a social encounter with an old nursing colleague!

Yep, I'm being a regular little social butterfly at present! Ahhh well ... you've got to make hay while the sun shines as they say. Because you never know just what lies around the corner!
Carpe Diem is my motto!
And speaking of seizing the day ................. I'd best do just that!
Until next time ................ Cheers!
