Sunday November 22, 2009

Good Morning!!! G'day.

Gee I quit posting on the GM thread for a couple of years, and now I've practically taken over being the first to post. Guess that's what happens since Joe went to nights.

Anyway, happy to do it. I'm up way too early but I was done sleeping. I think the long afternoon naps have my nighttime sleeping disrupted but I can't help it. Love naps.

Since I'm up early, I'll hit the gym when they open before church. I hope I remember to show up early to church since I'm a greeter today and not in shorts and flip flops. LOL

The humidity has increased and it's warm and muggy. Chance of rain. w00t

good sunday morning all!!
Tweety..great to "see" you on the gm thread. Have to admit i have been lax about posting. other sites (FB) take up a lot of my limited computer time...as well as work and family responsibilites!

Grace, how was your tea?
Steph, i agree with your saturday nite routine ... i would rather stay in with dgs than go out!

Jnette..have to admit.. i did go out and get a few gifts already...both time and finances are limited right now so i am taking advantage when i have a little extra of both! We are working at our annual Festival of Trees (methuenfestivaloftrees.com) so we have been "in the spirit"

got some great news this weekend..dd #1 (the one whos idiot husband walked out after 6 mos) and her bf are expecting!!!! big shock as its a fairly new relationship .....but i am a strong believer in karma and fate. She and the ex tried for months to conceive ..and didnt. now they both are expecting! dd# 2 is due in April this one in July...
soooo 2 new grandbabies in 2010!!!not to mention that bf has 3 kids from his previous marriage so i am going from 1 grandchild to 6!!!
its all good for me..now if i could figure a way to quit work and stay home to babysit....
welll gotta go get ready for church with Mom ...hope ist a wonderful day for all!mary

How exciting for you all, there is nothing more special that those little boogars eh?

Rather cool this morning but the sun is shining on the foot hills, there is supposed to be rain heading this way as well.

I must get out and fill up the bird feeders or they will have me for abuse LOL I love feeding those cute little feathered creatures. Reminds me I must get another 50lb bag for them. Yeah I work to feed them hahahahaha

Happy Sunday everyone. Hope you have a good one. I'm on a liquid diet today in preparation for a barium enema with air tomorrow morning. I'm sure I'll be a big fart all afternoon. Ugh!!!

Good morning from sunny California!

Dianah - your advise about eating pomegranates was great . . . .except . . . . I love eating them the messy way! Shades of childhood!

Kolohe - Danny and I read a bunch of different books during the week - he is into the Star Wars Pre-quel books and he picked out an "Accelerated Reading" book called "Holes" . . . .it is more suited to 5th grade level comprehension though . . I wish they graded the books for word recognition AND comprehension level.

I need to get busy - was headed to the big city to meet my daughter's boyfriend but that fell through so I'll tackle our bedroom instead.

Happy Sunday to you all - Tweety . . . . oh my gosh I just remembered I was supposed to be the reader today! :imbar Oh no . . . I hope my dear husband took my place!

Good morning sweat hearts. In the midlle of laundry, well...is part of "special" Zuzi life, he, he.... Beuatifull night last night...chez Lulu a coffe house with red brick walls and with an OOOOOOOOOLD blues rock jaz man singing there since 1980 (if I translate correct all, lol). Not enough money to buy his CD, a poor nurse Zuzi here....working and for clemencies, he, he.... I am ok, in a world where people fight for each and every, where to critique and stabbing back much better than to heal and unite........go with the flow.... I had enough of it.
You needed to hear him, my oldie, is partially deaf, I tried to talk with him, very hard, (is from my accent, lool), he came from New Orleans (if also I didn't confuse him with another band member) but when he plays quitar and step with foot on each and every beat...jeeeez ... yes I was in heaven... a coffe jazz house heaven! I love jazz, blue rock jazz, good blue jazz beats. Was hard with kids and buterflly that was sick, in a crowded coffe store was hard to focuse on the olddy beats, but even then..... he made me fly!

Somenthing similar with....

Morning everyone.

Oy.

My first shift by myself, and they give me a fragile elderly complete care with IV issues and plenty of wounds, and another patient with more wounds than I've ever seen before. Somehow I only left a half hour late, but when I got home I couldn't sleep for more than 2 or 3 hours. Have a headache too. Hoping this next shift will be better. Thankfully I'm off until Thanksgiving.

At least I now have planned my schedule through the end of January. Asked to work some extra days in December to make up for the likely cancellations around Christmas. But I hear that the manager prefers to use float pool, so we'll see how well this works.

Well, I've got to get some more coffee and ibuprofen. At least with getting up early I have plenty of time to get ready for work. I'll just be glad when this next shift is over.

Soooo .. you get the picture??!!

Greetings everyone!

Hoping everyone is enjoying their sunday. Mine was delightful! The tea went off very well, the governor came with his wife and entourage, also the mayor and his wife. A good time was had by all and the goodies much appreciated and delicious! Met the rellies at the house and we took our seats at the table designated for us. The committee and volunteers did a marvellous job of looking after everyone and the afternoon was a huge success for them. Spent some time engaging in conversation with the governnor and his wife, - we have the military service/life/sons also currently serving who know each other - in common. So, conversation flowed freely and happily with lots of laughs. They enjoyed seeing the house and learning all about the history etc. Overall ..... a most pleasant encounter and the grub was delicious! Did I mention that already??!

As is the way with historical houses, they cost many dollars to upkeep. There's a bit of a cloud hanging over the future of the house. I prefer it stays as it is, displaying the history and artefacts etc, and open for people to visit and learn the history etc. For the afternoon teas to continue, and available for functions such as weddings etc. There'll be "interesting" times ahead!

I stopped in to visit friends both on the way to, and coming back from, my outing yesterday. It was lovely to catch up with good friends again. Ended up staying for tea (as in evening meal! ) at the [on the way home] friends place. A full, fun, and busy sunday for me!

And now ..... it's monday!

Another busy day today which also involves a social encounter with an old nursing colleague!
Yep, I'm being a regular little social butterfly at present! Ahhh well ... you've got to make hay while the sun shines as they say. Because you never know just what lies around the corner! Carpe Diem is my motto!

And speaking of seizing the day ................. I'd best do just that!

Until next time ................ Cheers!

Grace - thank you for those photos! I hope things can continue as you wish for the home, displaying the history and all. I just hate it when we lose historical sites.

It is 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon and it has been a pleasant and sunny day with a cool breeze. I raked leaves and mowed the lawn one last time until next year. Cleaned off the front porch and swept.

I'm back on call - taking the rest of the day for the other nurse so she can drive a co-worker to Sac for a Drs. appt. tomorrow.

My husband was supposed to be home in time for me to be on call but he isn't here yet . . . of course it is only 1 minute past 3 . . . .I should cut him some slack.
