Good Morning! Been up since 6:00....think my body is still on the old time. Went to bed early. Going to Walmart here in a few to get provisions for my trip and then get a haircut later today. Other than that not a lot of activity today.

Had a pretty good spread for the family. My parents wanted some peace and quiet away from the constant activity of the great-grands, so it was just us three and we have a nice quiet visit, but there was so much food. I send a care package home to my sister. The chicken was still cooking when this pic was taken. All the rest of the food is vegan.

Hey, Sabby, and g'day to all Aussies out there---Hi Grace. Well, I hope your day turned out juuust fine. All good here, I had to go to Hedland today, a round trip of 600 k's, fortunately not with a pt. Just meetings etc. I am babysitting my beloved goddaughters dog and pony whilst she is on her honeymoon in Mauritious. [?spelling???] How the heck do you spell that??? Whatever. Animals are easier than kids to care for.
I am hoping to go to Canada to visit CARRN members next year and would love to catch up to some of you folks on the way back. Life in other countries just fascinates me. Are you Aussies over there permanent or on exchange?
Long trip today so I reckon I am off to bed Take care.

Good morning everyone. I knew Sabby started the thread from the title. She loves vowels. She should go visit Hawaii sometime; they use a pile of them.

Tweety - if that food tastes only half as good as it looks it would still be delicious. I don't care if it is vegan.
(My oldest son corrected me the other day in its pronunciation; I thought it was a short "e" and a soft "g".)

I'd better start hitting the keyboard; it's after 0800.

Good morning

Slept like a baby for 11 hours . . what does that mean really? Babies are notorious for NOT sleeping through the night. And what about "like taking candy from a baby"? Has anyone ever tried to take a Tootsie Roll Pop out of the hands of a baby?? No way.

Woke up at 4 with the alarm for my dh - asked about the interview. We had a good laugh because some of the questions he had to be careful answering. "What would you say to a woman who accused you of killing her garden by working for mosquito abatement?". My dh is not very patient with politically correct speech. But he did good. We shall see.

I saw that food on your FB page Tweety and it looks good. Still don't get the comments about it being vegan . . even with my tri-tip last night I had zuch's and tomatoes and onions. When you look at a plate of food, only about 1/3 is meat. The rest is either veggie or fruit.

Sabby - pray for me as I head in to work and deal with you know what.

And to the rest of you . . . I was gonna give you a kiss and some flowers but my smilies stopped working. Ah well, good intentions . . .

Have a great day!

steph I hope work goes well.

Hi Sabby Tweety bushambo Kolohe di zuzi!

I just recently got up, got done with the first night shift. It was easier than any day shift I've ever had. Granted, it was an unusually slow shift, but even the slow day shifts were considerably busier. I felt much more relaxed, right from the moment I walked on the floor.

Slept decent too, got about 6 hours in but woke up 2 or 3 times. Might need to get another drape, I think the one I have lets in too much light. Fortunately I have a good sleep mask.

Not much else happening, going to meet a friend downtown tomorrow night. Haven't decided on going to Wisconsin yet, might wait until tomorrow to decide.

I was mostly just teasing Tweety; I believe vegan can be a very healthy lifestyle as long as some nuts are included (hhhmmmm....... seems like there might be something else you have to be careful about, but I forget). I actually eat very little meat, but I don't think my McDonald's Caesar Salad would be nearly as good without that little bit of grilled chicken and the sprinkling of cheese. Same goes for my mini chef salad I often have at night when I'm on the road. The cheese and sliced hard boiled egg are a major component of the flavor. I don't think I'd be allowed my honey mustard dressing if I were a vegan either (I assume it has some eggs in it).

That being said, I have no doubt that ANY of Tweety's vegan dishes would taste better than anything the DW cooks. She doesn't even own a spice rack; let alone purchase fresh ones. And if I go to put a little salt on something she gives me a hard time. The food is always economical; it's palatable; and it's usually healthy; but it's rarely gourmet. Tweety obviously puts much thought and effort into his cooking. (LOL. This makes me think of that thread about Facebook. If anyone on FB ever "outs" me on AN I'm going to be toast! )

I Joe! Glad your first night went well and you were able to sleep.

Good afternoon/evening all!
