Tuesday November 24, 2009

by Tweety Platinum Member

Good Morning! G'Day!

I think I'll be, as Grace would say, "potting about the house" today. Going to try to bake some cookies for the first time in my life to share on Thanksgiving. Wish me luck.

I have an "wind" inspector coming by today to document anything in my house that might give me a discount on my insurance premium, which went up $1000.00 this year. I'm hoping there's some good discounts on the metal roof I put up a few years ago.

Good morning Tweety. I guess it's just "you and me, kid". (I'm a year older so you're still a kid to me. LOL.) I hope your house "passes wind" inspection.

My newly college graduated nephew has been working at the shop because he couldn't find a job in his career field. His wife of 3 months is a Physical Therapist and got a job in the southern part of the state. Its been about a 4 hour commute for him (once a week; then work 4 days); but he needed the job because of student loan payments.

He finally found a job in the same general area that he is now living, but not using his degree. He's going to drive a log truck. In fact; just to show you how desperate he was for a job; it's driving in Northern California with all those crazy California drivers!

I'll tell him to be on the lookout for an erratic blonde in an all wheel drive Kia (and I'm not just referring to her driving.)

Good morning, Steph!

I've heard about those drivers.

Good to still be a "kid". Just passing time until the guy gets here and leaves, so I can get on with my day.

Good morning!

Glad yesterday is over.

Tweety, hope the inspection yields good results.
What kind of cookies will you be baking?

Hiya, Kolohe!

Today's schedule is busy but so far not unmanageable.

Y'all have a good one!

Thanks Di....they are done.....I won't know about any discounts until the insurance company gets their report and reviews it. It's all done electronically so hopefully will know in a few days.

I'm making pumpkin oatmeal raison cookies. Sounds good, but we'll see. If they turn out good I'll bring them to the Thanksgiving dinner I'm attending.

Hi Tweety Kolohe Di!

I'm off today and tomorrow. I work Thanksgiving but not until the evening, so I can go to my cousin's house after all.

Second shift on my own was better than the first, mostly the same patients and fewer problems. Still a lot of wound care.

Went downtown with a friend yesterday after catching a few hours of sleep. Went to bed and didn't wake up until 10 this morning. Normally I can't sleep past 7.

G'day all ..... wednesday here and I'm also just going to be pottering about the house today!

Wont be as productive as you though Tweety, baking biscuits (cookies! )

It's a bit blowy outside today, the sun's shining and clear skies, so apart from the wind, a pleasant day by the looks of it.

Well part of my pottering involves doing some ironing! So, I'd best drag myself form here and get cracking with that!

Wishing everyone a happy day today!

Cheers ...............

Hi all!

Sabby, enjoy your rest! Soup sounds good.
I hope your tummy has been behaving itself lately.

Grace, get crackin', girl!
(so, is there a LOT less to do in the house with dh gone?? Huh?? Is there??? )

Whew, made it through today.
My mind has NOT been at work these past few days, have had to struggle to keep it on task and also anticipate what will be needed/done next.

I have tomorrow off, and then Thurs we go to Oceanside to spend Thanksgiving with mil.
We're all going out to a restaurant.
Nothing fancy, just time to spend together, and the ds's will both be coming w/us, which will be good.

Tomorrow we (dh and I, and three friends) have reserved time in a recording studio to get a few songs recorded. Nothing original, just our own arrangements of old hymns.
We're all looking forward to it!! (that's pretty much why my mind has not been totally on work . . too excited!)
It's about an hour's drive from us, will be there at 0830 till ????
We have 15 songs worked up.
We really enjoy playing together, and this is another excuse to do just that.
We're not professionals, and we're not out to prove anything.
Just havin' fun.

Tonight I need to finish washing the towels and sheets, and do a few things around the house (as little as possible, lol!).

Tweety, that recipe sounds yummy! I love anything pumpkin!!
I'm sure the whole gang will enjoy them on Thanksgiving.

Later!
