Hello Di zuzi RD bushambo Mary Sabby Tweety!

Once again I went to bed late and got up after 9am. I had been hoping to shift my sleep schedule a bit but I didn't think I'd be able to succeed. Normally I've never been able to sleep past 7, not even in college.

Didn't do much yesterday except laundry. Got the cat an appointment at the groomer's, myself an appointment at the Dr. (it's been a while).

Today there really is nothing to do. Too early for grocery shopping. Might go to the theater and see Fanstastic Mr. Fox. But other than that not much to do. Hoping the rain lets up so I can get outside.

Tomorrow it's off to my cousin's, then back home and back to work.

Hello - Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

I did some of my shopping yesterday (after getting my gray hair roots colored and then blonde highlights put in).

The stores weren't too bad. I took two pumpkin pies I got at Trader Joe's and some whipped cream to one of my hospice patient families.

I met my second son's girlfriend - she was at work at an outlet mall and very busy but in the 5 minutes I talked with her (she is the asst. manager of the store) she seemed pretty darn smart and friendly and she is cute too. Then I met this son at his fav Mexican place and we ate and chatted.

Came home to find my daughter here. My husband and youngest son are still over on the job, trying to get our chipper out of the snow. Last night when I called they were making tacos and had invited another logger over to eat.

Today - I'm going to try to get outside - it is gorgeous and sunny and should be fairly warm. It was in the 70's yesterday at sea level!

Maybe I"ll do my old run on a rural road here that goes over the river . . .very pretty out there. Then I have a hospice meeting at noon.

Tweety - at Trader Joe's yesterday I saw a "Tofuturkey" . . almost bought it. Just for fun. I love pot pies!

Back later . .. .

Steph, I really am not a fan of tofurkey...too spongey. But the gravey is good.

There's a new roast called "celebration roast" that's suppose to be good that I'm going to try. http://www.fieldroast.com/products.htm

Good -thursday here now - morning everyone!

We've had some RAIN! Wonderful for us but not so wonderful for the folks on the land, it's the last thing they need as far as their crops are concerned right now. Incredible isn't it, one part of the country wants/needs the rain, another hopes it wont rain!

All this talk about food .... I've been a bit lazy while DH's away, been having a few of those frozen dinners! :imbar Weeelllll ........ no point cooking just for me now, is there?! I wouldn't like to live on them, but for the odd occassion, they're not too bad.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, safe day/night/whatever today!

Slipping in late again...

Tweety.. I'd push my heap of turkey meat over on my plate to make room for a nice big helping of that veggie pot pie.... oh yeh ! LOVE pot pies !!! The HOMEMADE ones !! Yummy !!!

Sounds like everyone's getting prepared for the day of giving Thanks and feasting. Good job ! I don't have to lift a finger this year, and I'm loving it.

Going down the mtn. to Golden Corall for THEIR big feast... dd and sil and Gavin will be at the in-laws tomorrow, so it's just dh and me. wooohoooooo.. no cooking for me !!!

Grace, so pleased to read of the rain... every drop helps, yes?

What a day . . . . . a code was called near the end of our meeting and the wife of the patient completely melted down and needed help so . .. meeting adjourned and help was supplied!

Poor woman - her husband died and he was only 61. She was hysterical. Took some time for us to get her calmed down.

Now . . . have to think of something to fix for dinner tonight as tomorrow is the big day!

I do know that a bottle of wine is going to be opened and I'll toast the poor man who died today and pray for his family.

Thanks -

He wasn't our patient - but we are right next to the ER and when they paged overhead, the pharmacist left our meeting to help. Then we were asked to help with the wife because they were attempting to code the patient and she was hysterical.

He was only 61.

Wow........ I agree.. how sad. Geesh.. I hate to hear of these things. Kudos to you and your team, Steph for assisting the poor, distraught wife. *sigh*

My dad was only 62 when he passed............. seemed "old" to me back then.. ..... but I was only 28 and thus, to me, he seemed "up there" in age. :imbar

I now realize how young he really was. So sad.
