Talk about dark ages...LOL I'm 47, so I had Barbie and Ken dolls, hula hoop, banana seat bike, Nurse Nancy doll, my sister had a doll named Tickles, she laughed when you lifted her arm, I think. I remember some kind of thing you could make candy shaped like spiders, bugs, etc, sort of gummy candy-like stuff.

I was an 80s child too. I had all all the ones mentioned:
*Barbie
*Rainbow Brite (I still have her!)
*Care Bears
*Strawberry Shortcake (My mom made me a birthday cake like her too one year). I also had Strawberry's friend, Lemon Meringue (sp)
*Holly Hobby (I still have my HH lunchbox)
*Fisher Price Little People and Weebles (my brother and I had a great collection!)

I don't remember having any My Little Pony, but I know my cousins did-I liked playing with them.

I had a Holly Hobby Kitchen-it was made out of really stiff cardboard, but it had a sink and a stove and cabinets-I would play for hours.

My brother, cousin and I would play Monopoly for hours on end. Played Old Maid too.

My brother had Transformers, GI Joe, He-Man...he wanted me to play all of those with him, so I would :chuckle My favorite of his was Hot Wheels-he had this little ramp that had a garage, gas station, etc...it was so cool!

Oh and Playdough....we loved playdough!!

Of course- He-man and She-ra!

I had one of those cardboard kitchen sets too - only mine was Raggedy Ann/Andy. I think my Mom still has it in the attic....

I played with a hula hoop tons, and I had this lemon thing that you slipped around one ankle and spun it around and hopped over it with your other foot... that could keep me busy for hours on end. Jump ropes too.... especially when you could have two ropes going at once, for the double dutch! And, those old metal rollerskates that you strapped to your tennis shoes!

I'm sure there's tons more that I'm forgetting..... it seems like I had a thing for Strawberry Shortcake and Cabbage Patch Kids.....

i had one of those lemon things too, it was called a footsie.

I was trying to figure out how old people were by their answers. Boy do I feel old. We had peoples, jumprope, jax, lincoln logs and a big carbord refigerator box that we found at the curb. The box is what everyone fought over. Oh yaeh and as a pre teen I had one of those doughnut shaped wrist radios and would listen to the song "Band on the run" sitting on the porch in the summer.

I think I must be trying to be reliving my childhood. I love the Care Bears. I have Care Bear socks, undies...was even thinking of getting scrubs, but discovered the ones I were looking at didn't have the two side pockets. I have a Care Bear on a keychain, a large Care Bear, one that interacts, two smaller stuffed bears, and five Care Bear cousins. I just can't resist them.

I also love Strawberry Shortcake, and My Little Pony... My dear daughter has been very spoiled since these toys have come back out. I just can't wait till She-Ra resurfaces. I loved that show when I was a kid.

I am a pre-80's child, I remember my brother's and sisters playing with almost all of the toys that have been mentioned. I guess I was too busy bandaging ken and barbies to pay too much attention to other toys. LOL just kidding.

Totally a child of the 80's and loved almost every toy mentioned already in this thread!!!

My favorite toy memory...when I really young, I had an official Gerber baby doll (came with a sliver spoon) and I used to take her with me when I spent time at my mom's office (she worked for a surgeon). To this day, she's covered with tiny holes from shots, red ink stains from boo-boos, and is still sticky from all the tape I used to bandage her up.

25 years later, I'm utterly happy working in NICU.

Don't they say your first instinct is almost always right?
