Teflon Tim? Good one, Vike!
I don't think he was as bad a governor as some have been, although when I was teaching, I was well aware that he was no friend to higher education. When tuitions were rising at Minnesota public colleges, T-Paw tried to blame the professors. I believe he made comments about the increasing costs of education being due to professors assigning so many expensive textbooks. True---textbooks are expensive. But to try to boil the problems down to one cause was simplistic and wrong.
Re: the national significance of the elections, I don't necessarily see any of the elections as referendums on the Obama presidency, positive or negative. Frankly, I don't vote for someone based on the political party of the current President. I vote for the person I feel is most qualified, can do the best job, and whose stance on the issues is most in step with my own. I have voted for Democrats, Republicans and Independents; rarely have I ever voted a straight party ticket.
Still LOL over the Teflon Tim remark. The guy has the personality of three-day-old lutefisk.
