Yeah, I'm sticking around I paid my $30. bucks, lol. Thanks , my little Ava is a beauty. I wasn't feeling at all well for a while, flair up of the RA and then my daughter had complications and oh I don't know I just sort of fell away, but I would miss coming here, so I decided what the heck I'm just going to drop right back in.

Ava, what a beautiful name!! And you are positively radiant in this photo......there's just nothing better than being a grandmother, is there?

I had two of my grandsons all day yesterday, they are now 3 1/2 and 2 years old, and they are a handful, but so smart and fun to be with. The 2-year-old especially is a lover........he enjoys cuddling, and will come right up to you even in the middle of play just to pat your arm or lay his head on your knee before resuming his appointed rounds.

Yes, my son Chris joined the Army this past summer and will be headed to Afghanistan sometime this year. I wish he hadn't picked the infantry, but he's got dreams of being a hero, and frankly he is thriving in the military. It was exactly what he needed, and he has grown up a great deal in the past seven months. He's stationed at Ft. Lewis (WA), so he comes home to visit every couple of weekends. He's got a girlfriend who's an MP and she's adorable, so he seems to be getting his head together in the romance department too, thank goodness!

    HI
i was reading your post from march 08 and about how the nnoc doesnt represent LVN's and who would, im an lvn and met with the NNOC located here in texas where they are trying to change things for RNS , i told them of the terrible staffing ratios and conditions that LVNS have to endure at the skilled nursing/rehab care facilities. they told me if i can get enough lvns to show the need for a union, that she will call california and ask to see if they will represent us, once we win the collective bargaining rights throught this election we have to have in order to even get the right to join any union. she told me that there were some unions that we could join but she wouldnt recommend them because in not so many words THEY SUCK IN REPRESENTING workers.
The saddest thing of all is that LVNS run these step down units, with one RN in the building as required by law. I graduated with 65 other lvns in houston dec of 2007 and its unanimous all my friends have found this is where lvns are in abundance , because they pay way better than hospitals, and some hospitals wont take lvns anymore anyway. But i thought it was just my facility its all my friends facilities also, this is a great big problem that doesnt get lots of attention.
I just wanted to know if you have any info on the NNOC and lvns, and if stuff is still bad for LTAC and SNF were you are working.
im planning on becomming an rn soon , but even then i want to continue to try to do something about this lvn right thing, they can have good working condition and staff ratios but we as lvns cant cause they dont work in a hospital, i was so suprised that they didnt represent the lvns like it doenst say licensed vocational NURSE, they called us ancillary staff and i was like what , we basically run a mini hospital when the hospital runs out of beds for the patients. that frustrated me alot.
    sorry im ranting,
just wanting to know your thoughts on the issue

    thanks
    violeta
