Don't even get me started on "Cap and Trade" . .... . that is being voted on tomorrow!! I've inundated my legislators and Obama with "Please Vote No" on this terrible terrible bill. Please read some of the consequences of this job killing bill.

Working on that one as we speak, even though with all the 'greenies' dominating the Oregon political landscape, there's about as much chance of them voting against cap-and-trade as there is of me winning a beauty pageant.

So caring about the environment and the long-term ramifications of how we abuse its resources makes one an eco-nazi?

I care about the environment........just not at the expense of human beings.

I don't like being forced to buy 'eco-friendly' products that cost twice as much and work half as well as the products they replaced. I don't want to pay higher electric bills because the greenies want take out the hydroelectric dams to save some fish. I don't believe in global warming, seeing as how we froze our patooties off this last winter. And I don't appreciate how the greenies killed off the timber industry---and the family-wage jobs we depended on---because of the spotted owl.

No one wants to trash the planet. But somehow, we've all got to live here, and it seems that all the environmentalists want is to make everyone pay through the nose for programs and products based on questionable science. JMHO.

Would you agree that there needs to be some level of sacrifice from human beings, afterall, we are the ones wrecking the environment?

I mean, I oppose loss of jobs, without job retraining and replacement. But I think something needs to be done, and the truth is there is no way to address our problems without angering a group of people.

I don't think the evidence of melting polar ice caps is refutable anymore. It's not just the warming phenomenon, but the weather is changing and the extremes are eccentuated. There is another issue which we may be starting to see the beginnings of which is related to the warming of habitats where deadly microorganism which are responsible for the dengue and yellow fevers, and others which are unknown to scientists at this time.

In the oceans, our coral is dying, and because co2 inhibits coral production that means that the inhabitants/coral chewing predators will disappear as well. So, that means a lack of fish for people who rely on fish to consume. Even more drastically, rising ocean levels could leave low lying nations awash, which would be detrimental to human-kind as well. Additionally, intense drought and heavy rains destroy agriculture which is a staple of our sustinence.
