Hi All,
So a family member of mine approached me today in a panic, saying that part of Obama's new Healthcare Reform Plan states healthcare students will no longer have the right to choose which college they attend, but will instead be "assigned" to one.
Has anyone heard of this?
I dismissed this as being total B.S. (this particular family member often tends to get "worked up" about things
without gathering all the facts)......anyhow, I was curious if anyone else has heard of this rumor.
Even if, at face value it was true, I STRONGLY doubt that something like this would ever get approved by Congress or gain the public's support. How would private colleges flourish? So, students with hopes of attending Harvard, may have to attend a State school because that's what they are "assigned" to? And underprivileged students who plan to attend a State school (for financial reasons or otherwise), but are "assigned" to a expensive, private college will be forced to pay their hefty price tag? Not only does none of this make sense - it would be a HUGE violation of civil rights.
Thoughts?
