How low will it go? 38% now and dropping

Public approval of the Democratic healthcare plan is at it' lowest since polling started in June. I got a feeling it is going to drop even further and that spells bad news for all those dems out there who voted for it. They need to learn the public could give a rats patootie right now about healthcare..it is the economy they are concerned aout and thats what they want congress, senate and the annointed one to focus on.

This is why I think "what poll are they reading???" when I see posts about "stong public support".

This coming from a site that Sarah Palin sponsors......so I'll take it with a grain of salt, but understand that support probably is waining as they drag their feet.......if I remember correctly the administration did indeed tackle the economy first....but I do agree that should be the priority.

And the economy is doing so wonderful since the new administration took over......please....

If the new healthcare is going to resemble the success of the "newBama" economy I think I'll just take a pass.

On the Rasmussen site there are ads for Sarah Palin but if you look here on Allnurses there are also ads for Sarah Palin so does that mean they support her? Most likely not, but rather they sold advertising space is all. The same on Rasmussen. He is an independent pollster who polls both dems and republicans. His polls are considered some of the most accurate in the industry.

I agree with you that the public wants desperately to be done with this health care mess and move on to other issues of grave concern--Truly, they are surely becoming aggravated.

I disagree with your conclusion, though.

It won't be the Dems who voted for it they'll likely think back to in that deep frustration but instead those other politicans who needlessly, endlessly stopped and stalled that process and kept the congress and President from moving on to what actually were their REAL concerns.

Long memories of voters, indeed.

Kaiser Family Foundation puts support for the public option at 59%. Who to trust, Kaiser, which is an organization devoted to major health care concerns of the day, or Rasmussen, a number factory for conversative politics?

Who are these "other politicians who needlesly, endlessly stopped and stalled that process and kept the Congress and President from moving on...?"

Surely not Senate Republicans who lack the numbers to filibuster anything, and who are in a small minority in the House. If you are referring to anyone as obstructionists, you must be referring to Democrats themselves who lack a unified front and can't seem to agree on much within their own party.

The current health care bills can pass without a single Republican vote, and would, if the Dems had their you-know-what together.

I personally would trust the Rasmussen poll first.

Actually, I should've also included the right wing talking heads/spinmeisters. People will remember them, too.

My post was in response to OP's premise:
That the American public has grown frustrated by the excessively drawn out reform debate process, simply in terms of how looooooong it's taking (8 months+????), as in their view it is happening to the general exclusion of other critical issues and that somehow this 'anger' will be laid squarely at the feet of Dems come 2010.

I disagree with the conclusion.

No matter the final vote, if anything, most will remember how things were proceeding at a reasonable(for congress, anyway) pace and at least w/some attempts @ bipartisanship until the spectacles of Death Panels, too TALL bills, et.al began back in mid-summer and have seemingly only continued since.
This thing ran off the rails way back when and, IMHO, all those time wasters will be what is remembered and resented.

off topic --there is some validity to your point. Though personally I'm much more apt to admire active compromise over unified obstruction but, as always, that's just the way I roll....
