I wonder how her mccarthy era expose in anti-american sentiment in the house/senate are coming along.. what a complete nut!
It's too bad they didn't include my favorite Princess Bachmann of Planet Wingnuttia story, in which she falsely claimed that "flying imans" were in Minnesota attending the victory celebration of newly-elected, Muslim-convert, Representative Keith Ellison, who is from her own state. Just the image of "flying imans" is highly amusing to me. Especially if I picture them meeting up with the flying nun.

Bachmann Boasts About Breaking The Law: I’m Refusing To Fill Out The Census

Next year, the 2010 Census will be sent to every American household, as required by the U.S. Constitution. The far right has issued dire warnings of the Census; on a May 29th episode of Bill Bennett’s radio show, RNC Chairman Michael Steele intoned, “Certainly the collection of this information is going to be part of an ongoing political campaign by this administration.”

In an interview with the Washington Time’s right-wing radio show this morning, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) declared that she would break the law and refuse to answer the Census questions, beyond noting the number of people in her household:
BACHMANN: The motherload of all data information will be from the Census. … Unfortunately, the Census data has become very intricate, very personal, a lot of the questions that are asked. I know for my family, the only question we will be answering is how many people are in our home. We won’t be answering any information beyond that, because the Constitution doesn’t require any information beyond that.

Bachmann explained that her fears over the Census were in large part due to the fact that her Number-One Enemy, ACORN, could possibly be involved. (The group might help recruit some of the 1.4 million people needed to go door-to-door to count every American.) She insinuated that former senator Norm Coleman (R-MN) had lost his reelection bid because of “fraudulent votes” perpetrated by ACORN:
BACHMANN: This is what ACORN will do. They will get multiple fraudulent voter registration forms, stuff the registrar’s office with them, in hopes that maybe not all fraudulent registrations will find people at the polls voting. But there may be some people who get through. And sometimes you don’t often need many in order to sway an election one way or another. I come from Minnesota. We’re still in a recount with our U.S. Senate race between Sen. Norm Coleman and the challenger Al Franken. Sen. Coleman won the race on election day, but that was challenged repeatedly, over and over, with what we feel may be fraudulent vote [sic], and we’re very concerned about what comes forward.
At the end of the interview, Bachmann declares it to be a “badge of honor” to be a “target” of the press.

She does seem to be a nut with a large dose of paranoia.

Odd...she keeps opening her mouth and inserting foot, then does it again, then does it again. I honestly believe that she doesn't get it...in how incredibly stupid she appears when she keeps doing this. The only positive thing I can say about her is that she provides excellent entertainment for us all...sort of like the three Stooges.

Kind of how I feel about Biden.

Bachmann links census to Japanese internment
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is taking her refusal to fully fill out her Census form, which is a crime punishable by a $5,000 fine, to a whole new level: Invoking the memory of the Japanese internment during World War II, and the evil role that the Census played in it!

During an interview this morning on Fox News, Bachmann mostly focused on the danger of her personal information falling into the hands of the dreaded menace ACORN. But at one point, she made a very interesting appeal to history:

ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed. View this video at YouTube

"Take this into consideration. If we look at American history, between 1942 and 1947, the data that was collected by the Census Bureau was handed over to the FBI and other organizations at the request of President Roosevelt, and that's how the Japanese were rounded up and put into the internment camps," said Bachmann. "I'm not saying that that's what the Administration is planning to do, but I am saying that private personal information that was given to the Census Bureau in the 1940s was used against Americans to round them up, in a violation of their constitutional rights, and put the Japanese in internment camps."

At this point even Megyn Kelly, who had been gladly dishing out the anti-ACORN talk along with Bachmann, had to take a step back and raise the point that the Japanese internment was a long time ago and we haven't had such abuses since then.

For some context on how this fits into Bachmann's overall worldview, keep in mind that she's previously warned of the threat of "re-education camps" where young people would be indoctrinated into the government's official philosophy.
Note: the questions that Bachmann suggests might somehow lead to internment are not new questions (not to mention they frequently overlap with information given to the IRS every year). Census questions on race have been asked since 1790; home language since 1890; rent since 1880; and income since 1940. The Census has asked what kind of heating fuel heats Americans’ homes since 1940.

Oh Dear. What if the country actually voted them into office? If that happened, I'd build a bomb shelter, they'd surely get us all killed.

I think Bachmann's afraid of the 2010 census because it might mean redistricting in Minnesota. Currently, the Sixth Congressional District is a geographically impossible mess that goes from Stillwater, an affluent border community on the east, to conservative Stearns county on the west, and encompasses many of the north metro suburbs.

That and she's a complete nut case.

Oh, that's about as likely as Brett Farve becoming a Viking.

Oops, never mind. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...nnesota-viking

I really don't see that happening. I doubt she'd even survive the Republican primary....unless Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty, etc. decide to "take a hike on the Appalachian trail" too.
