Yep. Too many of the Dem Senators who are in charge of coming up with the reform plans have major conflicts of interests because of those contributions, and they are being more loyal to their corporate donors than their own constituents.

I forgot to add a big criticism of Obama
* Too much waffling and timidity on gay rights issues!! He can repeal "Don't ask, don't tell" with an executive order immediately. And that DoJ brief defending DOMA did not need to be filed.

I think Obama needs to be more forceful in his leadership, and send Rahm Emanuel to crack some heads.

I think he wants Congress to pass laws.
He recinded torture and such the previous administration implemented.
If he achieves something through executive order it can be recinded by the next President.

A law could not.

But as Commander in Chief, he can suspend the enforcement of DADT. It's not an either/or situation. For instance, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano suspended the enforcement of the widow's penalty immigration policy while some in Congress work to change the law. There is absolutely nothing to stop Obama from doing the same with DADT, and I think the administration is shirking responsibility with its excuses.

GOP House Trio Urges Bachmann to Reverse Boycott of Census
(Source: Roll Call)
Three House Republicans on the subcommittee overseeing the 2010 Census are asking Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) to reverse her decision to boycott the national population count, fearing others will follow her lead.

Boycotting the constitutionally mandated Census is illogical, illegal and not in the best interest of our country,” Reps. Patrick McHenry (N.C.), Lynn Westmoreland (Ga.) and John Mica (Fla.), members of the Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Information Policy, Census and National Achieves, said in a statement Wednesday.

“[A] boycott opens the door for partisans to statistically adjust Census results,” the trio’s statement said. “The partisan manipulation of census data would irreparably transform the Census from being the baseline of our entire statistical system into a tool used to wield political power in Washington.”

Sources say the GOP Members approached Bachmann privately over the past few weeks and asked her to stop the boycott. They decided to go public because Bachmann appeared unfazed by their request, according to a GOP aide.

Hey Moogie,

Have you seen this? DraftBachmann.com (don't panic, it's a hoax site)

:roll
We need Congresswoman Michele Bachmann to run for governor of Minnesota.

If Michele Bachmann knows anything, it's that out-dated ideas — like helping the middle class — are ruining this country. And in a year when hospitals are struggling, teachers are being laid off and road repairs are delayed, Bachmann's ideas are exactly what we need if we are going to truly protect our billionaires.

Bachmann told Minnesota Public Radio that she hasn't ruled out running to be the next governor of Minnesota, and we want to encourage you to tell your friends and family just what her candidacy would be like.

With the Fourth of July just around the corner, celebrate America with a brand of patriotism only Michele Bachmann could love.
And you can choose an e-card to send to friends and family to say "Happy 4th of July!" Each has a classic Bachmann quote!

Michelle Bachmann on global warming: "...it's all voodoo, nonsense, hokum, a hoax."

Michelle Bachmann on common sense job creation: "Literally, if we took away the minimum wage... we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level."

Michelle Bachmann on Barack Obama: "I'm very concerned that [Barack Obama] may have anti-American views."

Michelle Bachmann on science: "Where do we say that a cell became a blade of grass, which became a starfish, which became a cat, which became a donkey, which became a human being? There's a real lack of evidence from change from actual species to a different type of species. That's where it's difficult to prove."

Michelle Bachmann on setting life goals: "My number one goal is to not go to jail."

Michelle Bachmann on Congress: "I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-American or anti-American."

They can easily add dozens more e-cards given what's come out of her mouth.
