This Is Not A Fair Portrayal Of Obama

"This is not a fair portrayal of how Obama's done".

CNN did not fact check when SNL made fun of Palin or President George W. Bush. And libs insist there is no left-wing bias?

Perhaps this is why Faux News' early morning Red Eye is kicking CNN's prime time buttocks.

By the way, isn't this bordering on racism on SNL's part? Racism like this is so sad.

Fox's ratings are high because they are catering to a certain (very large) audience by reporting in a manner that caters to their right leaning ways. They are very aware of their audience, they are targeting them, and they are getting the advertising $$$$.

So, do we agree that CNN reports in a manner that caters to their audience's left-leaning ways?

If by "we", you mean Fox News viewers, then yes.

I won't agree to that. CNN seems middle of the road to me, with shows like Anderson Cooper and Nancy Grace, and I know conservatives watch it, but I can understand how a conservative who thinks Fox is accurate would view it differently.

MSNBC perhaps does because they have shows that rival Glen Beck.

That SNL skit was funny - and it is SNL . . . not a political entity to be factchecked. I thought it was interesting that CNN included Tina Fey's "dead on" portrayal of Sarah Palin but continued to complain that SNL wasn't fair to Obama.

Wolf's intro to the story was just . . . . biased.

edited to add: I just saw Julie and Julia . . . and they included the skit about Julie Child from SNL where she (Dan Aykroyd) ends up cutting herself and bleeding to death . . . did they factcheck that????

There are liberals and moderates on Fox too. Juan Williams and Mara Liasson from PBS are just two more left-leaning folks who are on many of the shows. Oh and what is his name . . ? On Sean's show a lot .. arrgghh. Very left leaning guy. Now I'll have to go google it. (Bob Beckel!!!)

On Sean's "Great American Panel" he always has someone of each persuasion on the panel .. . Democratic blogger Alicia Menendez for one.

On Fox's Sunday Morning show that I sometimes catch while at the gym, I notice they include a couple of liberals on one of their discussion panels, although the topic is usually one in which the liberals are on the defensive. Overall, I still wouldn't call Fox middle of the road, they are right leaning and anti-Obama......in my opinion. As I said, a lot of it has to do with the eyes of the viewer.

I just read an editorial on CNN.com that basically says what you said, that SNL has a long history of presidential skits and potrayals and it's usually not pretty. The writer didn't whine that it was unfair, because they've always been unfair and unflattering. I never thought they were that funny, in fact they've been cringeworthy sometimes, especially the Bush ones. It's Obama's turn, no need to even analyze it. They are wondering though about the power of SNL's potrayal, because it was noted that at the time Palin was mocked her standing and the great republican hope started to fall. He was wondering how this will fair in his approval ratings. One thing for sure is SNL is genius in getting attention and ratings, they skyrocketed in the Palin time, and people are sure to tune in for this and we have at least 3 more years to go.

Presidents get made fun of on SNL. Whether it's "fair" or not doesn't really matter does it? It's comedy.

There's bias of all kind in the 24hr. news outlets. Fox is notoriously right of center, CNN and MSNBC are slightly left of center. I've said it before and I will say it again, 24hr. news networks are a really bad idea and I am hoping, against all odds that everyone else will realize it too and shut them down. With all that time to fill, of course they are going to use pundits and talking heads just to fill space, the result is non-stories like the one we just watched.

It's so hard to find un-biased accurate information, it's really sad. We need accuracy in reporting and we need to be properly informed so we can make important decisions regarding elected officials. We also need to start digging a bit deeper I think. I realize how difficult it is for folks to scrutinize information they recieve that supports their principles and ideals regarding political and moral decisions, it's important to do so. The alternative is stagnation. I wonder, is the US becoming more and more polarized and divided, or is this just business as usual?
