Poor Maddie.

by GCTMT

Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.) used a baby to make a political point last night during the health reform debate. It's pretty sad, I don't know if I should feel worse for Maddie (for being used in such a way) or for Shadegg for feeling the need to sink so low. Either way, it is pretty cool that we have a psychic in Congress, apparently Shadegg can read Maddie's thoughts, feelings and desires.

Pathetic. A 7-month-old's view.

Maddie is far more interested in that microphone than anything else. Is that the best he can do to make his point?

I just learned of this quote from John Adams a few days ago. Seeing that congressman's antics reminded me of it.

"In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress."

I guess I'm the lone person here but I thought it was very cute and I agreed with everything Maddie wanted the congressman to say.

I'd volunteer my 8 year old son . . but he'd be the one to talk as you just can't shut this one up.

It was heartwarming watching him say what he needed to say and watch Maddie go for that microphone. We've had the same thing happen when families read the scripture on Sunday mornings.

I wonder who he got that from; his mom or his dad?

Dad and Grandpa and oldest brother . . .. they never met a stranger and we have a standing joke about trying to get Dad out of church as he talks and talks and talks.

Mom is shy and quiet and withdrawn and tries to be invisible.

Yuck...I'm a Republican, and I thought this one was just stupid. I wouldn't do that to my kids, even as a joke. She's a baby, for God's sake.
