I'm sure Rush has some good points... but he seems to put so much more energy into ranting about how wrong "they" are, or the unfairness of media coverage on what HE supports, and the like than in a rational discussion of the pros and cons of various alternatives.

For example, in the quote above, Rush says "what [Obama's] talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible". I don't think that IS what Obama is talking about. It may be what Rush fears will happen and there should be a discussion over what functions of society should be private sector and what public sector, but it's a gross overstatement and not at all conducive to rational discussion & decision-making to say that Obama wants the US government to absorb "as much of the private sector.... as possible."

I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you, Allison, but your mother was wrong. You CAN polish a turd.

Of course I'm not sure what this all means metaphorically, but I did notice from Rush's picture that his bald head is kind of shiny; and it looks like Al Franken's face has an unnatural glow to it as well.............

I hope we want the President to succeed because we love our country and love each other.

herring - the point is if you think the President has all kinds of wrong ideas about how to change things, you shouldn't support that.

I do not agree with Obama, especially about the economy. I think he will make it worse by his actions.

So, I can't hold hands and sing Kumbaya and turn a blind eye to life.

I still like people who disagree with me and I still love people in my circle of family and friends who disagree with me.
