Why is it any different, what's new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what's gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. . . . ."

Then on the 22nd this - http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/dai...117.guest.html

"Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: 'I hope he fails.'" . . . . . .I just explained in that bite everything I mean about why I want him to fail. There's no way to misunderstand this, but they get to those four words, "I hope he fails," and they ignore everything else I said in front of it. . . . "

The second link is the one I posted too.

He says the same thing in both.

He wants the policies to fail.

i don't see much of a difference.

the president's policies fail, the president fails, therefore the country fails.

No, if I believe that Obama's policies are wrong and therefore should fail because then the country would NOT fail.

I actually don't believe this country will fail . ... but we will be experiencing harder times if the increases in spending and higher taxes happen.

ok let me rephrase. the country doesn't fail. it sinks further into turmoil.

the bush policies have failed. for example: the iraq war strategy, the dependence on offshore drilling for foreign oil, and corporatist economics with cheap labor and job outsourcing.

the day bush left the oval office, the country is in a severe economic recession, unemployment rates in the double digits, thousands have lost their lives in the desert.....

the president's policies failed, the president went out of office with less than a 25 % approval rate, the country is in turmoil.

i do think it will get worse before it gets better. but saying obama's policies are wrong because the far right doesn't agree with them and that they should fail is like shooting yourself in the foot.

we're all in this together. me, you, the right, the left, and obama.

The reality is we need to stimulate the demand side of the economy. Smart spending does far more to generate prosperity than tax cutting. (If anything the evidence of the Reagan/Bush/Bush years is that tax cutting drags the economy down and yields almost no stimulative effect.) A dollar in infrastructure spending yields 1.50 in economic activity while a dollar in tax cutting yields 97 cents in stimulus.) Limbaughs arguments that Pres Obama is trying to nationalize the economy are nonsensical.

I never said that Bush didn't make many mistakes.

And he was not conservative in many ways.

The economy is more complicated than laying it at the foot of Bush.
