"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done"

President Obama nailed this one with his quote.

Ouch!!!...but true.

While not a Rush fan, I do listen to him at times. If you take only the sound bites, it can be a mess. If you listen to what he actually says, with the explanations of why he says it, sometimes there's a lot in there we all should be paying attention to.

That being said, I find it weird that the President chooses to pick on a citizen by name. Like kindergarten.

Let's not get into "but he hit me FIRST!". THAT'S kindergarten behavior. President Obama is not 'picking on' Rush Limbaugh. He is a public figure, and as such, needs to learn to take some of what he dishes out. Rush has made millions upon millions of dollars---not to mention a name for himself---by 'picking on' liberals, Democrats, women, feminists, gays, Hispanics, junkies (a case of the pot calling the kettle black if I ever saw one), blacks, foreign leaders, Hollywood, pro-choicers, anti-war activists, welfare recipients, environmentalists, non-Christians, and just about everybody else on earth who doesn't toe his narrow line of acceptability.

You can sugar-coat a pile of poo, paint it pretty colors, give it an alluring scent, and call it candy.........but it's still a pile of poo. I don't care how many times people claim "oh, it's all just sound bites" or "Rush's remarks are being taken out of context" or "You have to understand all of what he said to make it make sense". Phooey. Crap is crap, and no one has to listen to a whole hour's worth of it to know that Rush is just plain mean.

Big secret about to be revealed here: It's OK. We knew that already. Rush's fans would do well to just admit it and stop trying to explain him to us non-fans. It's a free country, and Rush can say whatever he likes. So can the President. I think we all need to lighten up.
