see what i mean?
this is one type of hysteria that schaeffer was referring to (in, "pray for obama" thread), that sets my radar off.
i don't recall anything remotely comparable when gwb was in office, or any other president.
some/many folks are going/have gone mad since his election into office.

scary people out there.
very, very scary.

Transcript:
What’s in this legislation? The end of America as you know it, I believe.
We are taking about massive, sweeping change. American’s showed up by the hundreds of thousands at various tea parties to demand the opposite of this: stop spending money. But look at these bills. Look at this. This is a fundamental transformation of America.
Massive changes to the way you live your life. The Senate plans to pass this mess before Christmas.
I don’t want to believe the things I believe about what’s happening in Washington, but we have a President who has surrounded himself not with free-market system lovers. These are people that don’t want to increase America’s prosperity, they are spending us into oblivion for their own purposes.
Obama is trying to overwhelm the system right now with massive new government takeover programs. I mean look at these bills. This is just for health care. Stimulus. This is insanity.
Obama is insisting on this all at once. His entire transformation America package all with twelve months of his administration.
We are talking here America about the end of our way of life.
This is not some wild conspiracy tale.
They already control our banks.
They control the auto industry.
Control the temperature inside of your home.
Control of one-sixth of the economy.
Taking over the internet in the name of neutrality.
They are moving at the speed of light and we’ve got to get up off of our couches and get into their offices.
If we don’t stop this insanity now, they will fundamentally transform America. It must end. You must make a choice. This, or this.
I'm beginning to think he's right. He is not calling for the assassination of the President (as some would imply),but rather for people to get off their duffs and get involved in government to stop this madness. Common, ordinary Americans (not just Tea Partiers or Conservatives) are starting to get mighty alarmed at what is going on in Washington. I noticed a letter to the editor in my small town newspaper that mirrored Beck's sentiments exactly (I know the writer, and she is not a crazy fanatic, just an ordinary citizen.) She stated in her letter that Obama with his "silver tongue" is about to destroy America.

Besides economic ruin for the middle class and elderly, I am very alarmed at this administration's attempt to silence dissent (aka resurrection of the Fairness Doctrine and the attempt to control the information on the Internet "net neutrality").

Just received this e-mail from my Senator (Richard Burr) of North Carolina. He echoes some of Beck's concerns about this monstrous health care reform bill and what it will do to America:

While I have not yet had time to review this 2,074 page bill in its entirety, what I have read so far makes clear that this bill is the wrong prescription for our nation's health care system. What concerns me the most is that this bill cuts Medicare benefits for seniors, increases taxes on small businesses, dramatically increases federal spending, and puts government bureaucrats between patients and their doctors. This bill also increases health care costs. The real ten-year cost of the bill when fully implemented - $2.5 trillion - poses a significant threat to our nation's fiscal situation. I encourage you to read the bill and the official score by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

I believe there is a better approach to health care reform, such as providing portability, eliminating pre-existing conditions, reforming our malpractice laws, and incentivizing wellness, prevention, and disease management. These measures would provide greater access and lower health care costs for Americans. That is why I introduced my own health care reform legislation called the Patients’ Choice Act last May.

As an elected representative of the people of North Carolina, I have long believed that reform of our current health care system is necessary. Without any kind of reform, I fear that skyrocketing health care costs – which already consume one-sixth of our economy – will eventually destroy jobs and budgets as health insurance becomes increasingly unaffordable. I am committed to finding a solution that makes insurance affordable and accessible, but which also builds on what works in our current system. Any reform must continue to foster the medical innovation and quality that has made American health care the best in the world.

Many of us are concerned about government spending as you and Mr. Beck. We were concerned back when Mr. Bush started deficit spending, particularly when we got into what is going to amount to be a trillion dollar war. We were concerned when the economy went to ruins and the government did nothing. Now is the time to clean up the mess and make changes.

I don't think the left or Washington is trying to silence dissent, but to tackle the idea that the government is a communist death squad whose only goal is the complete ruin of America, espeically the middle class and elderly. There are more valid ways to express concern than the tea partiers. IMO of course.

Oh crap. I'm so sorry, it just kind of rolled off me without thinking and I was only quoting the article in my title post. No vulgarity meant. I'll fix it. No tit for tat necessary.

Tweety, I'm really not a tit for tatter type of person...I just gave a huge sigh, slapped my palm to my forehead and felt like I imagine you did in your response to my post in the healthcare bill thread....just kind of fed up, you know?

Thanks for changing it. It really is vulgar to be hearing it over and over on television and especially on news networks.
I truly do not get offended easily, I just seem to tire easily of it these days. I, however, do appreciate it. Thank you.

I understand completely Medic, would be nice if we could just get past some of that stuff and roll up our sleeves and get things done. I have many "slap my forehead" moments.
