Lord have mercy......
You would think that the hospital would want the man cutting on people's backs and brains to be well fed. He probably needed the extra croutons to make the hospital cafeteria soup palatable.

Sounds like he made out okay, though. Do you think if I stole a pack of saltines, the hospital would suspend me with full pay?

Not a prayer, they'd make you stay after your shift and wash dishes.

Very true!

Hey, a food pyxis might not be a bad idea. That way, everyone gets charged for exactly what they take. I mean, if alcohol pads are such a HUGE commodity on the streets, just imagine what we could get for CROUTONS!!

Um, yeah, this is ridiculous!

Indeed - perhaps the hospital should employ some "crouton police" to monitor and do surveillance on the taking and distribution of croutons...this might be a much larger problem than they realize....

the doctors might be funneling huge supplies of croutons to a secret crouton black market

I think I need to get in on this crouton black market thing!!! Nursing doesn't pay enough, maybe the black market crouton trade will fare better. :chuckle:

For heaven's sake, give the man some extra croutons! I would want MY brain surgeon well fed. I bet the patients he was supposed to operate on that afternoon would have gladly chipped in and paid for the man's croutons so they could have their surgery!

I'm sorry but the rules apply to the brain surgeon the same as the housekeeper. I do think suspending him was a bit extreme. But if that's their policy and they've enforced it on other employees, why should be be any different.
