McCain's Vice President Nominee

I was scanning the TV channels and stopped at CNN for a bit of a presentation about possible Vice Presidential nominees for McCain. There were five: Crist, Romney, Pawlenty, Jindal, and .... Carly Fiorina. Carly Fiorina??????????? The woman who nearly destroyed one of the world's greatest companies - Hewlett-Packard?

Being conservative/libertarian, of course there is pressure from friends to vote for McCain, and I figure it's about a 7.3% chance I'll vote for him. But there is 0.28% chance I would vote McCain/Fiorina. Nothing wrong with having a woman, but Fiorina?? How about Ann Coulter, Phyllis Schlafly, or Laura Schlessinger? Intelligent, strong women all, especially Schlafly.

Wow, Carly Fiorina? Hmmmm . . . .

That would be a really bad decision on McCain's part.

Phyllis Schlafly did earn a Phi Beta Kappa key. So did Angela Davis.
Like most of us she is hypocritical. She advocated women staying home as full time wives and mothers while she was away from home speaking publically.

Schlafly is 75. McCain would be 72 if elected. I am just a bit worried about their ability to demonstrate any real mental agility or flexibility in arguably what are the 2 most demanding jobs in the world.

The 9/11 "Jersey Girls"

In Godless, Coulter criticized the four 9/11 widows known as the "Jersey Girls", writing:
These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis. These self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9/11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them. ... I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much ... the Democrat ratpack gals endorsed John Kerry for president ... cutting campaign commercials... how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce these harpies? Now that their shelf life is dwindling, they'd better hurry up and appear in Playboy.[

Wow. I'm all for free speech but sheesh, that's low even for her.

Harpies? Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?
