I am reallllly tired of pointing fingers all over the place.......sigh..... Does anyone TRULY know who called whom "WHEN"? I think culpability exists at all levels, and a real examination of what went wrong, and viable solutions are needed NOW. There is sure to be another disaster of similar proportion in our country. I would like to believe we can be better-equipped to deal with it in the future.

Nothing against YOU spacenurse. I mean no disrespect. I guess I am just so weary of all this----I cannot fathom how hard it is for those directly affected. They have no time to quesiion who is responsible; they are too busy trying to live.

I don't think I am the only one to feel sorrow, anger, hope, and back again.
My hospital won't let me off to go help and our patients here need nursing care too.
SO I was able to donate airfare for RN volunteers to relieve fellow RNs in Mississippi who are now homeless.
There has been so much incompetence by all levels of government, both parties.

I just looked for official sources instead of opinion pieces.

I agree w/your search spacenurse. I do.

I just think you will come up w/all this and see others argue each point made in your sources.

It's become about partisan politics as usual. The true suffering of these folks is not being alleviated by our partisan arguments back and forth....or my handwringing here. I think it's time to really investigate who is doing what---and write letters/make calls and vote accordingly.

I hope you understand, I mean you no disrespect whatsoever. I agree w/you 100% in feeling helpless and sad.
